The 30-foot dome at the Museum of Innovation and Science in Schenectady, New York, is about to get a little bigger.
The museum has received a $12,500 grant from the Bender Scientific Fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region to fund upgrades to the facility's technology, reports the Daily Gazette.
Among other things, the dome will get a new digital projection system, and the space will get a new telescope.
"Our Planetarium offers a unique experience that excites wonder and awe in children and adults alike," says the museum's vice president of education.
